Too Many Tote Bags

Life has just gotten in the way the last few weeks! Between Scouts, hockey, and a death in the family, it has just been very hectic. I finally hunkered down this morning and started getting some more stuff done, and my biggest accomplishment (besides cleaning up the kitchen) was cleaning out all the tote bags of "stuff" hanging up in the laundry room. There were 3 bags of leftover items from road trips, a bag of stuff from the last time I cleaned out the car, and the church bag - items to keep the boys entertained during Mass. Mostly it was toys and coloring books, a few lost video games were found, and - score- I found 2 pairs of headsets for the truck!

Technology Can Suck

Literally.

I have a memory leak on my desktop. No idea how to fix it.

My laptop had a hard drive failure this morning. It has been dying a slow death for several months now, apparently it's ready. I have spent the last 2 hours getting files off of it, I'm about half done. I have 2 computers, with the same damn files on both of them, because I'm a pack rat and afraid to get rid of anything!

And then there is my brand new camera - my Canon D10, which, overall, is a great camera - durable, waterproof, it takes decent pictures in auto mode, but I need to figure out how to program it to take better ones. But the lens keeps getting stuck, and I'm going to have to send it in to get fixed. I've only had it 3 months.

You Really Don't Want to Know What is on Those Shoes

I'm serious. You don't - but I'm going to tell you anyway.

I cleaned out the bottom half of the mud room closet yesterday. I got rid of 12 pairs of my shoes (most of them in no condition to even be wearing anyway), and then I pulled out 4 pairs of Keith's. Three of them were covered in dust - you couldn't even tell what color they were, it was so thick! After further inspection, it was discovered that a pair of brown leather shoes, last worn circa 2004, had MOLD on them - YIKES!!!!!!!!!! I never even knew that was possible.

So I pulled out all the stuff to go away, put jackets that are out of season downstairs, and dusted and cleaned off the floor and shoe shelves. Now, I just have to tackle the upper shelf.

On a good note, I've been going crazy listing stuff on ebay. Well, ok, I only have 8 listings, but it's a start!

Figuring out Ebay

I spent this weekend putting some of the boys' outgrown clothes on Ebay. I've never done it before, I've usually done Craigslist, but living so far out in the middle of nowhere, I can never get anything sold. I had no problem figuring out how to list stuff, but the shipping is where I get confused. I finally decided to just use some Flat Rate boxes we have, and ship everything that way. At least until I figure out what I'm doing! I did give a bag of clothes away also.

The boys went back to school today, so now I can start really getting into things! After I tidy up the house, this week's project is going to be the mudroom closet. There are WAY too many things in there!

Lots of clothes

I just went through and cleaned out B's pants, and brought all bigger-sized ones out of storage. Now, I have a bunch of 4t stuff to try and get rid of. I tried doing Once Upon A Child a few weeks ago, but they hardly took anything. So, what do I do with it? Craigslist? Ebay?

I've never sold anything on Ebay before. This whole venture is about doing something new for me, so I'd better figure it out. Anyone have any tips for me?

I Did It!

They went! The hall rugs went to the dumpster on Christmas Eve! I also dumped out a container of old sponges and other kitchen sink-type cleaning things that have been sitting there, unused, for several years. Hmmm, maybe I should start taking pictures of stuff that is going buh-bye.

I started working on straightening up the office/kids' art supply/spare bedroom before my mom gets here tomorrow. I ended up going through old clothes of the boys' I've been putting in garage sales the past few years, but am still stuck with. I even took a bunch to Once Upon a Child, and they gave 90% of it back to me. I'm re-sorting it by size to give to Keith's cousin and another friend of ours who have little boys and can hopefully use them. I have got to stop saving stuff for garage sales!

I hope everyone had a GREAT Christmas!

Am I Nuts?

It's Christmas week! And I want to start a new resolution now? Did I mention we received a couple more inches of snow last night, and are under a Winter Storm Warning for 3 days over Christmas? I must be out of my mind!

At least I know what's going first - the hallway rugs. They are forever ending up in a ball in someone's room so the boys can play hockey. They are more hassle than they are worth. Now I just have to get them to the dumpster...
